1. My monitor shows no picture...
Double-check that there is power to your monitor: checking its power LED, usually on the front of the monitor somewhere.
Then see if your computer itself is switched on.
If both are switched on, your monitor may be in 'power-save' mode, or 'sleeping'. To "wake it up", move your mouse or press a SHIFT key on your keyboard.
If your monitor and PC are both on and they are not in the power-save mode, then there are three possibilities:
- the cable connecting your monitor to the computer is loose or unplugged at one end,
- your computer's graphics adaptor (or the PC itself) is not working,
- your monitor is broken.
