7. My email isn't working...
Note: this FAQ is about fixing an email problem that has recently arisen. It's not about configuring a new email account, nor setting-up email from scratch.
In most cases, your email is delivered to your inbox within Microsoft Outlook or a similar email program, or you read it by logging into a web site such as Hotmail, Google or Yahoo.
One common problem, which interrupts email collection, access or delivery, is that the computer’s network or Internet connection isn't working properly. You can quickly test this by trying to open a network folder, or a web site (such as Google). If you can't do this as usual, there is definitely a network problem of some sort.
Check your physical connection is OK: if you use a network cable, check it's plugged-in at both ends and undamaged. Check your Internet router or modem by turning it off, counting to ten (slowly!), then turning it on again. Use the same method with a wireless router.
If you can’t check the connection media, or you have done and it's still not working please contact our helpdesk for further assistance.
If you can access your network folders and the Internet but can't get to your emails, there may be a problem with your email server or your Internet Service Provider ( ISP ).
In either case, please contact our helpdesk and we will help to resolve the matter.
